What's in the Box and How It Works
The RP-108 set contains two colour ink ribbons and 108 sheets of 4x6" postcard-size photo paper. Each ribbon handles 54 prints, matching one full paper tray load. You don't count prints or worry about running out of ink mid-batch because the ink and paper are paired 1:1.
SELPHY printers use dye-sublimation technology. The ink ribbon passes over the paper in four layers (yellow, magenta, cyan, then a protective overcoat). The result is a continuous-tone print with no visible dots, no streaking, and no drying time. Photos come out ready to handle immediately.
Print Quality That Holds Up
Dye-sub prints from the RP-108 are water-resistant, smudge-free, and fade-resistant. Canon rates them at roughly 100 years under proper storage conditions, which puts them on par with traditional photo lab prints. The overcoat layer protects against fingerprints and minor spills, so you can pass prints around at a party without worrying.
The 4x6" format is the standard photo size. It fits in frames, albums, and wallets. If you're printing family photos at home or running a photo booth at an event, this is the format people expect.
Compatible SELPHY Printers
The RP-108 works with the Canon SELPHY CP910, CP1200, CP1300, and CP1500. If you own any of these printers, this is the paper set to buy. One thing to note: it's not compatible with older SELPHY models that use the KC-series ink cartridges (like the CP800).
For the CP1300 and CP1500 specifically, the RP-108 is Canon's recommended high-capacity option. Buying the 108-sheet set instead of smaller packs brings your per-print cost down significantly, which matters when you're printing in volume.
