Same 9mm Drivers, Now with a Mic
The EX15AP uses the same 9mm dome-type neodymium drivers as the EX15LP. Same 8 Hz to 22,000 Hz frequency response, same 16-ohm impedance, same 100 dB sensitivity. The audio quality is identical. What you get on top is an inline microphone and a single-button remote built into the cord. Press once to answer or end calls. Press to play/pause music. That's it. Simple, and it works with both iOS and Android.
Android users get a bonus: Sony's Smart Key app lets you customize what the button does, like skipping tracks or launching an app.
Built for Calls on the Move
The inline mic sits at a natural position on the cord, close enough to your mouth that people on the other end can actually hear you. It's not a boom mic on a headset, but for quick calls while walking or commuting, it does the job. The hybrid silicone earbuds (S, M, L included) seal well enough that you're not fighting street noise during a conversation.
If you take a lot of calls on the go, the EX15AP is the practical upgrade over the EX15LP. If you never take calls through your earbuds, save the difference and grab the EX15LP instead.
3 Grams, 1.2 Metres, Zero Hassle
At 3 grams with a 1.2-metre Y-type cord and cord slider, these disappear into your daily routine. The gold-plated L-shaped four-conductor plug sits flush against your phone in a case. No weird angle sticking out, no stress on the jack. Pull them from a pocket, plug in, and you're listening in two seconds flat.
Features
Inline Mic & Remote
One-button remote for calls and playback. Works with iOS and Android. Android gets extra control via Sony's Smart Key app.
9mm Neodymium Drivers
Same dome-type drivers as the EX15LP. Clear mids, solid bass, 8-22,000 Hz frequency range from a 3-gram earpiece.
3 Grams, Barely There
Weighs less than a coin. Long listening sessions stay comfortable because there's almost nothing pulling on your ears.
Hybrid Silicone Tips (S/M/L)
Three sizes with a soft core and firm outer shell. Good seal means better bass and less outside noise during calls.
Gold-Plated L-Shaped Plug
Four-conductor TRRS connector sits flat against your device. No awkward angle, no jack strain.
1.2m Y-Type Cord with Slider
Tangle-resistant design with cord slider. Right length for phone-in-pocket listening without loose cable everywhere.
Who Is This For?
Smartphone User Who Takes Calls
You switch between music and phone calls throughout the day. The inline mic and one-button remote let you answer without pulling your phone out. The hybrid tips seal enough to block some background noise, so callers hear your voice, not the coffee shop.
Android Power User
Sony's Smart Key app gives you extra control beyond play/pause. Map the button to skip tracks, launch Spotify, or trigger Google Assistant. It's a free app that turns a simple remote into something more useful for your workflow.
Traveller Who Packs Light
At 3 grams with a tangle-free cord, these take up zero space in your carry-on. The L-shaped plug won't snap off if your bag shifts. They're cheap enough that losing them at an airport doesn't ruin your trip, and good enough that you don't need a backup pair.
