120 Watts, Eight Drivers, Zero External Subwoofer
The SR-B30A is a true all-in-one. Inside a single enclosure: four 1.8-inch mid-range cone drivers, two 1-inch dome tweeters, and two 3-inch built-in subwoofer drivers in a ported bass reflex design. That's eight drivers total, packed into a bar that sits flat under your TV or mounts flush on your wall.
Total power output: 120 watts. That's less than the SR-B40A's 200 watts, and you'll feel the difference in larger rooms. But in a bedroom, den, or apartment living room under 250 square feet, the SR-B30A fills the space convincingly. The built-in subs won't rattle your floor like a dedicated subwoofer, but they produce enough bass that action movies have actual low-end punch rather than the hollow thump you get from TV speakers.
Dolby Atmos Decoding From a Bar This Slim
Like the SR-B40A, the SR-B30A uses virtual processing rather than physical up-firing drivers to create Atmos height effects. It decodes Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Digital. Connect it to your TV via HDMI eARC, fire up a Dolby Atmos movie on a streaming app, and the bar handles the decoding internally.
Four sound modes shape the output: Stereo for music playback, Standard for general TV, Movie for widened spatial effects, and Game for lower processing latency. Clear Voice technology does what the name says: it isolates dialogue frequencies and pushes them forward. Genuinely helpful for shows where actors whisper half their lines while explosions go off in the background.
One HDMI Cable and You're Watching
HDMI with eARC/ARC handles TV audio over a single cable. HDMI CEC means your TV remote adjusts the bar's volume and powers it on and off. There's also an optical input for older TVs or devices without HDMI ARC. Bluetooth 5.1 with SBC and AAC codecs lets you stream music from your phone when the TV is off.
No Wi-Fi, no Alexa, no app ecosystem. Yamaha positioned this as the plug-and-play option in their lineup. The Sound Bar Remote app on iOS and Android does work with it for adjusting EQ settings and sound modes, but it's entirely optional. Everything you need is on the included remote control.
Perfect for the Bedroom, Den, or Apartment
The SR-B30A was designed for spaces where a separate subwoofer is impractical. Bedrooms. Dens. Studio apartments. Dorm rooms. Anywhere you want better sound than your TV speakers but don't have room for (or interest in) a separate sub box. The bar is compact enough to sit on a nightstand shelf or mount on a wall beside a bed-mounted TV.
The trade-off is clear: you get convenience and simplicity at the cost of deep bass extension. If you want your chest to vibrate during explosions, you need the SR-B40A with its wireless sub. But if you want clean, full sound with actual low-end presence in a small room, the SR-B30A is the smartest pick in Yamaha's soundbar lineup. And honestly, for a bedroom setup, it's all the sound system most people will ever need.

Who Is This For?
Bedroom TV Watcher
Your bedroom TV sounds flat, but there's no room for a subwoofer on the floor. The SR-B30A sits under your TV or mounts on the wall, delivers clear dialogue with Clear Voice, and the built-in woofers add enough bass that movies actually sound like movies. One HDMI cable, done.
Apartment Dweller
A separate subwoofer in an apartment is a noise complaint waiting to happen. The SR-B30A keeps the bass contained and controlled with built-in drivers. Your downstairs neighbours won't knock on your door, but you'll still hear the depth in soundtracks and the thud of on-screen action.
Minimalist Setup Lover
One bar, one cable, one remote. No subwoofer box to hide, no wireless pairing process, no app required. The SR-B30A is the simplest path from terrible TV speakers to legitimate Dolby Atmos sound. If your ideal setup has the fewest possible components, this is it.
